1. How often should we inspect and check on our AEDs?
It is good housekeeping to check on your AEDs to see if there are any fault lights or error messages at least once a month. We also highly recommend that owners of AEDs engage competent and professional technicians to do a function test on the AEDs and get an updated service report once a year.
2.How often do I need to replace the pads and batteries for the Philips Heartstart HS1 AED?
AED pads should be replaced immediately once used or when it has expired (approximately 2 years). For the batteries, the Philips HS1 can last up to 4 years on standby mode.
3. Is it necessary to have an AED for my CERT team?
Yes. AEDs are part of the mandatory package when you need to form your CERT team. The Philips HS1 AED comes with a light weight red carry case for easy deployment.
4. Is the AED difficult to use?
AEDs are designed so that ordinary folks can use them during an emergency. On activation, AED will provide step by step instructions on how to use the equipment.
